Malaika Arora Khan is acting in a new Hindi film version of the hit movie Charlie's Angels and she plays one of the angels. The original starred Cameron Diaz, Lucy Lui, and Drew Barrymore is the story of a trio of stunningly beautiful female crime fighters, working for a mystery benefactor codenamed obviously Charlie.In the film the Kick Boxing actress, Malaika plays a lively fun loving character, and has she has been reported as saying how much fun it was to play the part. Malaika is dubbed as the title of the top 'item girl' due to her regular appearances in single scene dance sequences in many Bollywood productions. Arora Khan is now trying to build her career as an actress by moving to complete roles within a film.This appears to be working as according to her she is being inundated with offers and is now in the enviable position of being able to pick and choose the roles that suit her.Ms Khan the model turned MTV Video Jock, has moved on from TV work to concentrate on her acting. In a surprising offer she is to play herself in a film that is also being shot next year, in a role described as all action, full of emotion, with lots of song and dance routines, in other words ‘Bollywood’Maliaika was also recently announced as the face of Shape Up, a new anti-cellulite treatment from the Indian fitness company VLCC.
The film is due for release February 2005
