An Indian police force accused of high levels of corruption including drug dealing and sexual abuse have turned to Bollywood in an attempt to bring order to its ranks.

The Director General of Police (DGP) in Goa, Aditya Arya, organised a private screening of latest blockbuster movie 'Singham' for 900 police officers.

The movie is set in the Western Indian State of Goa, a popular tourist destination and is based on the life of 'honest cop' Bajirao Singham, played by Ajay Devgn.

According to Sky News, DGP Arya hopes that the leading example set by the fictional character will inspire real-life officers to turn their backs on crime and commit to their jobs properly.

DGP Arya said: "There is a trust deficit amongst the public, and therefore we decided to hold a special screening so that the department is able to perform better."

Will this special screening bring a change to the police force? Leave your thoughts below.
