Sanjay Dutt Challenges Conviction....
Troubled Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt is challenging his conviction for his involvement in the 1993 bombings in India.
The actor, who was sentenced to six years behind bars for illegal possession of weapons linked to the bombings in Mumbai, was returned to jail last week (22Oct07) after a short reprieve.
But Dutt, 48, is appealing against his sentence, insisting it was based on a confession he later retracted.
His petition reads, "For a confession to be accepted, it must be voluntary and free from any kind of pressure and coercion".
The petition also recommended Dutt should be given immediate bail.
