We all have sexual fantasies, I'm sure. Books are an ideal way to explore them without stepping over that line from thinking about it to actually doing it. Perhaps that's enough for some-you know, reading about a character who has the same needs as you, possibly sates your craving so you don't feel you have to play it out for real. For others it might mean learning more about what the fantasy entails, getting comfortable with it, accepting that it's okay to feel this or want this, then moving on to doing it for real.

Fantasies are usually kept inside. After all, the reaction that others may have if you told them what you desire might bring about negative reactions. Shock, horror, and outright disgust. I feel people should do what they want to do and not worry about what others think, if their sexual escapades are consensual between however many parties involved. That's easier said than done, though, isn't it? There's that lingering doubt in the back of the mind that someone might find out and brand you the grossest pervert on the planet. Or worse, tell others your secret.

But you'd be denying yourself if you didn't go ahead and explore…

One man's taste for Earl Grey is another man's repulsion. What fits you doesn't fit everyone else. We're individuals-and hallelujah for that!-who shouldn't be made to feel dirty for what we want. So, what DO you want?

As an author, I tend to write other people's fantasies. The reason I ask folks what they want/need is so I can create a story about it to give people a chance to read and explore their kink without that feeling of shame that is so often attached. I hope I've helped in some way! There are so many fantasies out there, so many that haven't been shared. I'm after hearing about the unusual ones, so if you have any, please feel free to pass them on-in the strictest confidence, of course. If a story plonks itself into my head after I've learned of your kink, I may well write it.

What I often wonder, what with today's busy lifestyles, is: When do you fantasise? Do you wait until the day is over, climb into bed, switch off the light then daydream scenarios? Do you have to indulge during a lunch break, a quick ten-minute fling in your mind that takes the edge off the craving but doesn't quite bring enough satisfaction? Do you think about your fantasy while driving-that stop light has been red for enough time to allow a swift flash of a sexual scene to spark in your mind. If you're prone to those flashes, do they reappear at random times during your day, or do you have to wait for a moment alone before you can imagine? Do you ever think about your fantasies while in the company of others? At a party, perhaps, where everyone's talking about work or kids or school or…and there's you, thinking about sex. Thinking about what you want to try.

So what is that? Fully admit to yourself what you want and need. Do you have a fantasy in your head right now because you've read this? Maybe take a moment to think about it some more. Or maybe, if you're lucky, you can go and act it out-right now, this minute.

If you can, have fun. Enjoy. And if you can't, have fun and enjoy too. After all, anticipation is half the excitement, right?
