I was born in Northern Ireland and raised in London, UK, and have the weirdest accent, that even my children like to mock me. When I was younger I used to be embarrassed by my odd twang, but these days I am proud of it. It makes me unique and sets me apart from everyone else. At least that is what I tell myself.

Unbreak Me

Unbreak Me

I never planned on having children and ended up with five. It's a true fact, never say "never", because fate loves to come and bite you hard and change the course of your plans. When I was eighteen, I had this clear vision of where I wanted to go in life, and babies and husbands were the least of my worries. That all changed when I met my husband. All those silly deadlines I set myself went up in flames and I swapped ambition for nappies-well, for a while at least.

I love France. Nowhere in the world feels more like home to me than France. I don't know what it is about the country, but every time we return back, I find myself falling in love with it all over again. I often daydream of retiring there, writing happily in some rustic nook and devouring the French culture one step at a time. To me, that would be bliss.

I am obsessed with the gym. I've always been conscious of being healthy, living an active and balanced lifestyle. But my chosen profession can mean endless hours sat at a desk, leaving my body in desperate need of respite. So, I make a point of leaving myself two hours in each day where I head off to the gym and work out. More recently I began weightlifting and I cannot tell you how it has changed my opinion on body sculpting. I now not only work out to keep my heart healthy, but I use weights to tone and sculpt muscle in places I never knew existed and believe it or not, I adore leg day.

I based my latest novel UNBREAK ME in San Francisco because I have this bucket list, and San Francisco is in the top 5 places I want to visit before I decide to kick up a few daisies. There was no real reason other than that, and then I met my friend Jenn, who happens to come from the Bay area and low and behold, my obsession grew. I find it incredibly satisfying just knowing that my research paid off and my friend was able to lend a hand when I was fine-tuning a few things. It always helps to have a little local knowledge.
