To celebrate the release of her new book- Kitty's Countryside Dream, Christie Barlow tells us a little bit about the author behind the books.

- I used to be a member of the Roland Rat fan club and I received regular rat mail from the superstar!
- If I ever appear on mastermind my specialist subject would be the 80's pop group Five Star! I am a manic fan and used to spend hours in front of a VHS video tape recorder learning their dance moves to every record they ever produced. I can still remember them all nearly thirty years later!
- I continuously fiddle with a piece of silk to stop myself getting stressed.
- I have a massive phobia about feet! I cannot look at them or touch them. I detest feet!
- I have more shoes than Imelda Marcus yet my favourite footwear are my muddy wellies and I got married in white Doc Marten boots.
- Back in the 90's I once faked an illness so I didn't have to attend my boyfriend's family party. Instead I went clubbing with my best friend to Mr Smith's nightclub in Warrington. We ended up appearing on the late night telly program Hitman and Her with Pete Waterman and Michaela Strachan which was being filmed there. Unfortunately my boyfriend watched it and I was promptly dumped.
- I applied to be a guest presenter on the T.V program Loose Women and my application video was picked from thousands of entries and shown on the program.
- I have had my hand wedged in Ricky Wilson's (Kaiser Chiefs) armpit.
- I was a wedding planner on the BBC's T.V program 'The Bank of Mum and Dad.'
- I am an ambassador for The Zuri Project Uganda and it is an absolute honour to be heading out to Uganda at the beginning of 2017 with my fellow Patron and friend Bhasker Patel who is an actor in Emmerdale to see first-hand the community we both support.
