The fire grew brightly and softly glowing

As the lady knelt by the flames

There was a slight soft shift of dirt beneath her

She bowed her head, her long brown hair

I sat next to a large pine as I watched transfixed

as her body began to twist and I heard her scream

But then it turned to a low warning growl

I couldn’t run or speak or even scream

I enjoyed the terror

I enjoyed my own fear

Feeling the blood rush through my veins

I just wanted to follow and watch

It wasn’t fear but curiosity that drove me to follow this cat/woman

I wanted to be like her

Forever free and able to see in the night

I so wished that I could be just like her

Then I woke up

I found my cat purring against my chest

As I realized that I had fallen asleep in the meadow under a tree

My favorite book in hand
