Ten things about me? Well, I could give you a hundred!

From where I stand today, I've discovered that life has come full circle and if there's anything about me that I want to share is my zeal to celebrate life!

As I open the doors to my life, the one true defining factor about me would be my family and my children. My family means the world to me. Their support makes me stand tall and their love makes me what I am today -and what am I today? I am merely a wordsmith using my creativity to make small difference in this big world. I endeavour to give back as much as I have amassed and hope for happiness everywhere.

Moving on to a more individualistic level, a term that would pretty much sum me up would be the word 'Optimistic'! Long ago, I came across an aphorism that stated that it is not the number of times we fall that is worth keeping track off but the number of times we pick ourselves and keep going. That has been my mantra at all times and I have moulded my life accordingly.

Hand in hand with this optimism is the will to learn more. I keep myself open to thoughts, ideas and knowledge at all times. Almost like the roots of a sapling, always willing to let goodness permeate through to them.

This brings me to another interesting aspect about myself and that is, I am a very keen observer. Getting to know people and wanting to know everything and anything about others is very important to me. It's almost like I make other people's business my own. This trait has a two-pronged advantage as I get to be an agony aunt of sorts to everyone around me and of course, all the insights come in handy as reference material whilst trying to churn out a bestseller!

Nonetheless when I peek into people's lives, I can, with a great amount of certainty say that I'm also a non-judgmental person. In my opinion, everything goes and as far a fellow beings are concerned each and every one has the right to live, speak, eat, pray and love the way they want to and not necessarily in that order.

Having crossed the half way mark down this list I think it is time to reveal my great love for food. I especially enjoy trying out fusion food that is an amalgamation of different cuisines. And if there's any idiosyncrasy that deserves a mention, then it's my penchant for anything chocolate and my ability to devour several helpings of chocolate mousse in a sitting! On a slightly more meaningful note though is a distinct life style change that I'd like to highlight. I've turned towards vegetarianism in recent years as a result of my personal pledge in supporting animal rights.

Close on the heels of my love for food is my love for flowers! Flowers brighten my day, they inspire me to write and I truly believe they are nature's gift to mankind.

Next in line is something short and sweet; fashion and jewellery give me a real high. I love accessorising, and my favourites are tribal and ethnic trinkets and more often than not you'll find me sporting a statement neckpiece or a quirky finger ring!

What would I put in for my phobias? The answer would be anything that is scaly, creepy and beady eyed! Yes lizards it is, followed by snakes and earthworms and so on.

If hadn't been a writer then I would have been an architect. Architecture seems like a brilliant profession and I am never short of being amazed at the art of putting designs into bricks and mortar and creating wondrous monuments.

I have made Singapore my home for the past decade and a half and I love everything about this vibrant city. This small nation city is a melting pot of cultures and a great place to live in.

Summing up I'd say that each day I inhale in wonderment at everything that this world has to offer. I look at life with a young child's perspective and I urge my readers to do that too. I have immense faith in staying positive and know that the world will be filled with harmony and peace one day.
