My therapist told me to try stand-up comedy - which I did, but I knew I had no future in it when I did a gig at the comedy store and the owner told me I was probably one of the worst stand-ups he’d ever seen – LOL!

I am the biggest Emmerdale fan ever – I’ve often thought of applying to be a storyliner with them – The Dingles wouldn’t know what had hit them!

Due to my PTSD at times I suffer from chronic anxiety but the way I make myself feel better is sitting in the stable with my horse who fills me with the calmness and mental peace I need. There’s a magical, spiritual quality about horses which is so healing.

The Duchess of Devonshire taught me how to play golf.  Once a week during term time she’d take me around Chatsworth and tell me tales of her sisters – The Mitford sisters. She was a wonderful woman, plus it got me out of double maths at school!

I left school with no qualifications (perhaps because I was playing too much golf!) but years later I went to night school to study American politics then went on to do Global political Islam before eventually taking a Master’s degree in Counter terrorism (though I need to go back and complete it when I have time)

I used to suffer from chronic phobias, one of my phobias was being terrified of hexagons and even now as I write that word, I have to take a deep breath!

For me the best feeling in the world is calling my horse from the fields and from nowhere he suddenly appears on the brow of the hill, galloping over to me and nickering (neighing a greeting) before nuzzling me. It’s Black beauty all over again! and it’s what dreams are made of!

I’m obsessed with documentaries – my ambition is to be a documentary film maker - it’s probably because I’m very nosy and love to know the ins and outs of people’s lives.

I’m adopted and when I was a child I used to wait for windy days and go up to the top of a very steep hill and send paper aeroplanes made from letters which I’d written to my birth mum, letting her know where I was in case she was worried about me and needed to come and get me. Not surprisingly she didn’t get them! But now I have a wonderful relationship both with her and my adoptive mum.

Years ago I was an actress, but I suffered from terrible nerves and just before I went on stage my mind went blank and I’d forget all my lines. Even when I auditioned I was like jelly - Vanessa Redgrave once had to give me a prompt.
