Read The Lost Girl and find out!

As you say, this is the second book in the Lost Boys series, so what can you tell us about the first?

Well, the first book is about love and fate. Having moved to a strange town, seventeen-year-old Joey Gray is feeling a little lost, until she meets a cute, mysterious boy near her new home. But there’s a very good reason why Tristan Halloway is always to be found roaming in the local graveyard.

The Lost Boys is a magical, romantic tale of girl meets ghost.

But there isn’t only romance in the book. There is true friendship and the power of music bringing people together, and a heroin that will never give up and will always fight with all her might for those she loves.

You mix all of this, throw in a bit of supernatural, magic spells and deadly deadlines, and you have yourself an epic adventure with a special rocking girl and her amazing group of friends.

People always say the second book is the hardest so how did you find the experience?

The first draft of The Lost Girl was already written. My editor and I had to work on cutting rough edges and polishing the story to make it a hundred percent ready for publishing.

I have learned a lot from publishing The Lost Boys, so now the process of edits, cuts, reviews, etc for the second book were a lot faster and smoother.

I am loving the experience. For each book, I learn something new that helps me with the next. It is hard work, but very rewarding as well.

You also write for children, so do you have a preference between the two audiences?

I am deeply in love with the Young Adult/New Adult genre at the moment, so my opinions will be a tad partial and biased.

Writing for children have been an old passion of mine, I don’t think the feeling will ever go away. I do plan to write them again in the future.

But I still have a few rocking YA stories making noise inside my head that I want and plan to write first.

When you are designing character what are the things you look for first?

I don’t look for anything in particular. The characters show up in my head already with all their quirks, habits, forms and personalities shaped, I have little to say or add to it. I mostly just let them be the way they want to be.

You have commitments in many areas such as digital painting and animation, so how do you juggle it all?

I need to be focused and very organized with my daily schedule, or else nothing gets done. When you juggle between works you have to make sure you’re dedicating a portion of your time for each job and that nothing is being left out.

I’m very happy to be able to work with arts and literature, they are my two greatest loves in life.

What is next for you?

I am currently writing the third book of the Trilogy (Lost and Found) that is planned to be released next year in 2015. Joey, Tristan and the boys will be back with yet another adventure very soon!

The Lost Girl is out tomorrow.
