The Maroon 5 singer - who mentors on the competition alongside the blonde beauty, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton - decided to improve his manners when he realised the 'Ain't No Other Man' hitmaker is surrounded by males when she shoots the programme.

He told Rolling Stone magazine: "I honestly just recently started realising that you're surrounded by three dudes all the time, and that has to be something of a pain in the ass. We stopped farting in front of her!"

Christina - who recently worked with Adam on Maroon 5's 'Moves Like Jagger' hit - admits she has to be a "pretty strong girl" to put up with the "crazy" testosterone-filled environment during filming.

She added: "You have to be a pretty strong girl to stay up in the mix with the guys. It's a lot. It's a crazy locker-room kind of situation."

But the 31-year-old star finds the show - which sees mentors pick contestants without seeing them in order to judge them purely on their vocal ability - is a "very good outlet" for her to share her "highs and lows".
