Adam Sandler becomes a dad

Adam Sandler has become a dad.The baby girl is the first child for the 'Happy Gilmore' star and his wife, Jackie.A statement on the comic actor's website reads: "Kid is healthy!! Wife is healthy!! He's still a moron, and that's all that counts!!!"The girl - who has yet to be named - was born on Sunday (07.05.06) at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles.Sandler met his 31-year-old wife seven years ago when she had a brief role in his film 'Big Daddy'Jackie - who is an actress and model - played a waitress who took his character's order for a root beer in a scene set in a sports bar.They tied the knot in a traditional Jewish ceremony in 2003. She had already converted to Judaism in 2000.

Among the 400 strong guest list were Jennifer Aniston, Dustin Hoffman, Rodney Dangerfield, Sharon Osbourne and Rob Schneider.

At the ceremony, Sandler wore a tux and yarmulke - a religious head covering - as did his bulldog Meatball.
