Alan Carr goes away for the festive season because he doesn't like being "forced to have fun".
The TV funnyman said he goes away after Christmas every year for a short break because he hates New Year's Eve (31.12.09) celebrations in the UK.

He said: "I always go away for New Year's Eve. Last year was New York and then before that Cork in Ireland, and I've also been to Sydney, Australia. I just have a little break, like a weekend away but it takes the pressure off, you're not forced to have fun."
"If you're at home, you go down your local pub and they're charging a fiver to get in. You're thinking, 'I wouldn't be seen dead in here on a normal day and now they want you to hand over a fiver to the miserable bouncer for the privilege of sitting there.' I don't reckon so."
This year, the former 'Chatty Man' presenter reckons he'll be heading out for a spot of skiing in the south of France.
He added to BANG Showbiz: "Maybe I'll got to Val D'isere. I would like a log cabin there, and a hot toddy, it'd be nice to cosy up in the cold at night."
