Following various standout performances on the dance floor, in the charts and climbing mountains, the talented Alesha Dixon has identified her next challenge and is turning her attention to the tennis court with Robinsons.

Alesha has been training with former British number one, Tim Henman and will be showcasing her new skills on the Robinsons mini court at Wimbledon on the first morning of the Championships - Monday 22nd June.

Ahead of her court debut, Alesha will be joined by Tim when they set off to tour the country over the coming weeks to inspire young tennis hopefuls and encourage families to dust off their racquets and hit the tennis courts this summer.

Prior to her popstar status, Alesha had plans to become a PE teacher after leaving college.  Still holding her passion for sport, Alesha is looking forward to brushing up on her tennis skills to take on the queue at Wimbledon.

"I have a really big family and we always loved watching the tennis together - particularly the Championships at Wimbledon.  It’s a huge honour that Robinsons has asked me to be involved with the 2009 Championships!

"I have very fond memories of Wimbledon as my first ever public performance with Mis-Teeq was at the Championships entertaining the crowds. It’s very exciting to be going back, though I imagine my experience this time round will be quite different!"

Tim Henman comments, "I’ve been very lucky training Alesha as she’s naturally co-ordinated and in good shape, so she’s picked up the skills really easily. We’re in for some great tennis on the 22nd!"
