Alex Turner is set to move to the US.

The Arctic Monkeys frontman has decided he can't bear to be parted from girlfriend Alexa Chung while she attempts to carve out a successful TV career in New York.

A source said: "The thought of being separated for months on end, with her trying to get TV work in America while he is in the UK, was too much for him."

However, his stateside move could have huge implications on the band as the rest of the group will be staying in the UK.

The source added to Britain's The Sun newspaper: "He's madly in love. It has caused a problem with the other boys because it's going to make coordinating band business a lot more difficult, but they're happy for him."

Alexa recently revealed moving to America has been difficult.

The British TV presenter said: "Attempting to relocate has been fairly traumatic. I've had countless arguments with taxi drivers and on more than one occasion I've found myself teary-eyed and lost amid the maze that is the rat-riddled subway system."
