Royal Ascot Glamour as Miss NI launches Best Dressed Competition at First ever NI Derby Final

Tomorrow is the Final of the first ever Northern Irish Greyhound Derby, one of the most eagerly anticipated Derby's of the year.

The event, sponsored by Bettor.com and held at Drumbo Park's £3 million stadium, is set to be the Royal Ascot of greyhound racing with not only first class racing but fashions, dining and surroundings to match.

Drumbo Park has carried out activities and competitions to enhance the atmosphere and create a modern and fresh approach to greyhound racing. One of which is the 'Miss Drumbo Park' competition, which was won by Finola Guinanne, who has subsequently gone on to win Miss Northern Ireland and will soon be representing the country in the Miss World competition.

Hosting the Derby's Best Dressed Competition, which will provide a lucky winner with a fabulous £500 shopping voucher for Victoria Square plus an appointment with its new personal shopper, the night is expected to bring additional glamour to the event.

Guinanne said in a statement: "I'm delighted to have been voted the first ever Miss Drumbo Park. It is a great honour to represent an establishment that is helping put Northern Ireland on the greyhound racing map."

Although it is extremely difficult to get a table on any race night at Drumbo Park, word is out about the country's new event and it now expects crowds of approximately 2000 and therefore has set up a VIP Marquee, which will offer a sparkling wine reception, entertainment from a three piece jazz band and excellent views of the main event.

Jayne Clarke, a Director at Bettor.com said in a statement: "The roar of the crowd when the dogs are coming into the finish is just like that of a football match, and the fact that the ladies get so dressed up for a night out here, it feels like you're at the Royal Ascot! I am most definitely looking forward to dressing up for the Final."
