Anthony Hopkins Was A Poor Husband.Sir Anthony Hopkins has confessed he was a "devious, cunning" husband to his second wife Jennifer Lynton.The Silence Of The Lambs actor divorced the production secretary in 2002 after nearly 30 years of marriage and has since wed antiques dealer Stella Arroyave.Hopkins wed Lynton in 1973 when he was still a practicing alcoholic, but found sobriety two years into marriage with her help and support.The actor believes he has finally realised how to behave around his current wife, but could have been a better husband to Lynton.He admits, "The trouble is I'm a bit of a loner and my second wife Jenny could never figure out why I was so alone."She wasn't an actress and so we were totally different personalities. She was very sane, rational, calm and straight, she never played games. In contrast I'm devious, cunning, compulsive and addictive."I try to be understanding of women but they scare me a bit."In the past I didn't get too involved although now I do try to be gentle and see their point of view."
