Anthony Kiedis has named his new son Everly Bear.The Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman, whose model girlfriend Heather Christie gave birth to their first child in Los Angeles' Cedars Sinai Medical Center on October 2, revealed the name was inspired by one of his favourite music acts.Anthony said: "We had a long list of names, but I suppose it came to me by way of the Everly Brothers, which is one of my favourite bands. And sometimes last names make good first names." Anthony explained his 22-year-old lover chose Bear because they want their son to know he is part of a "clan".The 44-year-old singer said: "The mama came up with Bear. That made sense to me because he's from me and I feel like I'm part of the bear clan, and I think it's nice to have a little bit of earth in your name."Anthony is still adjusting to fatherhood, but feels relieved Everly Bear is proving to be a "peaceful" child so far.He added to People magazine: "Being a father is different, it's much different. I sleep when I can, but he is letting me off pretty easy so far. He is a very calm and peaceful kid."
