'Arrested Development' is returning to TV screens and is getting made into a film.

We're all game. We've hated being coy, but we've been trying to put together this ambitious idea.

The comedy TV series - which starred Jason Bateman, Michael Cera and Portia de Rossi - is getting 10 new episodes which will then lead into the big screen version.

Speaking at a cast reunion at The New Yorker Fest, creator Mitchell Hurwitz said: "We're all game. We've hated being coy, but we've been trying to put together this ambitious idea."

Following the announcement, Bateman wrote on his twitter page: "It's true. We will do 10 episodes and the movie. Probably shoot them all together next summer for a release in early '13. VERY excited! (sic)"

The show initially ran for three seasons from November 2003 to February 2006 and focused on the members of the dysfunctional Bluth family who ran a failing real estate development company and frozen banana stand.

Despite winning six Emmy awards and one Golden Globe, the show was dropped by Fox because of low ratings.
