Art Garfunkel - Caught In Possession Again

Art Garfunkel has been charged with cannabis possession - for the second time. The 63-year-old singer, who shot to fame with folk duo Simon and Garfunkel, was allegedly caught with marijuana in his car when police pulled him over for failing to stop at a stop sign near Woodstock, New York on Sunday (28.08.05). Officers reportedly noticed a strong smell of pot and, on closer inspection, discovered a cannabis cigarette in the car's ashtray. Garfunkel, who had a string of hits with Paul Simon in the 1960s, is due to appear in court on September 22. In January 2004, the star was caught with the drug when his limousine was stopped for speeding. The police officer who pulled over the car in the American town of Hurley, near Albany, claimed he smelt marijuana as he approached the vehicle - and found a small amount in the musician's jacket pocket. The following month, Garfunkel - whose hits in the duo include 'Mrs Robinson' and 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' - was fined $200 after pleading guilty to marijuana possession.
