'The Da Vinci Code' beauty Audrey Tautou is threatening to quit acting - because she's already sick of being famous.
The French actress claims she hates the limelight and would be happier without her new star status.
The 27-year-old said: "I used to think I would retire from films at 40, then it was 30. Maybe I would like to do something more private and discreet with my life.
"I know I'm not the best actress in the world and not the worst but I think that maybe I'd be happier doing something that doesn't leave me so exposed."
Audrey, who stars alongside Oscar-winner Tom Hanks in the controversial movie, admits she stumbled into an acting career.
She said: "For me, acting was a bit of a lazy activity. I never said I wanted to be an actress.
"I couldn't even admit to myself that it's what I wanted to do as a profession, but I gave myself one year and if, at the end of that time, I hadn't done what I wanted, I would do something else."
