The former Spice Girl - who already has two sons, Brooklyn, five, and Romeo, two tomorrow (01.09.04), with footballer husband David - released a statement confirming she is due to give birth in early March next year. She said: "This is fantastic news. We are both absolutely delighted. We are planning to have the baby in Spain." The news ends weeks of speculation that the 30-year-old singer was pregnant after she was spotted visiting a specialist baby clinic earlier this month. The couple, who married in a lavish ceremony in 1999, have made no secret of their desire to have a large family, with David, 29, recently saying he would love a daughter. Earlier this year, the couple's marriage was rocked by allegations David had cheated on his wife with his former personal assistant. Spanish beauty Rebecca Loos alleged she had a steamy affair with the Real Madrid ace while Victoria was in England looking after Brooklyn and Romeo. However, David branded the claims as "ludicrous" and Victoria has always protested his innocence. Victoria was blamed for the alleged affair as she didn't spend enough time in Spain and as a result, she and her two sons moved to Spain on a permanent basis to be with David. Meanwhile, Victoria hosted a giant wildlife party yesterday (30.08.04) to celebrate Romeo's second birthday. She held the event at the couple's Hertfordshire mansion - dubbed Beckingham Palace - and the local Paradise Wildlife Park laid on a children's show.
However, David couldn't be there as he was in Spain, but the family are expected to fly out there today (31.08.04). Before the party, Victoria sent out her butler to read out a note to the waiting press. It said: "I am madly up to my neck in it wrapping 'pass the parcel' prizes.
I am feeling very well and very happy."
