Bon Jovi's plane terror
Rock band Bon Jovi narrowly escaped serious injury when a plane they were on skidded off a runway after landing in Canada. The group, fronted by John Bon Jovi, were on a Boeing 707 travelling from Buffalo, New York, to Ontario on Saturday (21.01.06) to continue their Have a Nice Day tour.As the aircraft touched down, it careered off the runway before coming to a halt with its nose ending up stuck in mud at the top of a hill.
The incident was caused by heavy rain which made the surface of the landing strip extremely slippery.Luckily, all 14 passengers, which included the band and members of their tour entourage, aboard the plane escaped unharmed. An airport employee claimed the band were in "good spirits" as they were escorted from the aircraft, despite the terrifying accident.A spokeswoman for the band has confirmed their tour will proceed as normal this week.
