Bono has won a court battle to reclaim a cowboy hat from his former stylist.Lola Cashman - who worked with the U2 frontman during the band's 'Joshua Tree' tour in the 80s - claimed Bono had given her the Stetson hat, some earrings, a sweatshirt and trademark black trousers as gifts 19 years ago.She claimed the rocker "plonked" the hat on her head, as he was running around in his underwear backstage at a concert in Arizona in 1987. Cashman put some of the memorabilia up for auction in 2002, but lawyers, representing U2 asked for all the items to be returned. After a lengthy deliberation, the court ruled that "on the balance of probabilities" the items were probably not given to Cashman in the first place.U2 issued a statement last night (15.11.06) saying they were "relieved this matter had now concluded".The band also stressed they would not be actively pursuing compensation on "substantial legal costs" owed by Cashman.
