Britney to marry in scarlet dress

Britney Spears has sparked rumours she is to walk down the aisle in a scarlet wedding dress.

Sources claim the pop princess has hinted to friends she wants to wear an unusual red bridal gown when she marries dancer Kevin Federline in November.

One friend is quoted by Britain's Daily Star newspaper as saying: "Britney wants to wear something different and doesn't want a white dress.

She has been dropping hints that she will wear bright red."

Britney is also said to be planning to have five bridesmaids - likely to include her younger sister, Jamie Lynn, and her cousin and best friend, Laura Lynn - while Madonna and Guy Ritchie are expected to be star guests.

The singer's staff are trying hard to keep the wedding venue a secret by making calls to lots of different places - but sources close to Britney believe she may marry in a chapel near her family home in Kentwood, Louisiana.

Britney has also hired celebrity wedding planner Yifat Oren to co-ordinate her big day. A source told America's MSNBC: "She's versatile, so if Britney decides to do something in keeping with her Louisiana roots, Yifat has also been known to use gingham tablecloths and burlap napkins for a more rustic look." Yesterday (01.07.04), Kevin revealed how Britney proposed to him.

The 26-year-old dancer was so stunned when she took the initiative he rejected her offer - before proposing himself. Kevin told America's People magazine: "I said no. I was taken by surprise. I thought the guy was supposed to ask the girl.

So a couple of minutes went by and then I asked her." Talking about their two-month romance, Britney, who previously dated pop heartthrob Justin Timberlake, said the affair was like a fairy-tale. She said in the People interview: "I've finally found my happily ever after.

I knew the instant I met him that he was the one for me. I've kissed a lot of frogs in my life and now I have my prince."
