BRITTANY MURPHY has confirmed reports she is a married woman after tying the knot with British screenwriter SIMON MONJACK in Los Angeles last month (Apr07).

The 29-year-old actress's nuptials come nine months after she ended her engagement to best-boy grip Joe Macaluso, who she met on the set of Little Black Book.

The Sin City star's representative tells America's People magazine, "They were married at their home in Los Angeles several weeks ago in a very intimate ceremony.

"It was officiated by a rabbi and they were surrounded by their families."

Wedding reports started over the weekend (05-06May07) at the Kentucky Derby, where the couple were spotted wearing wedding rings.

A joint statement from the newlyweds reads, "This was our first trip as a married couple. We came to the Kentucky Derby and had a wonderful time."
