Ron Howard has taken to twitter to announce his actress daughter Bryce Dallas Howard has given birth to her second child.

The 'Help' star's father, director Ron Howard, took to twitter to announced Bryce and her husband Seth Gabel - who already have four-year-old son Theo - welcomed daughter Beatrice Jean Howard-Gabel on Thursday (19.01.12).

He wrote: "Beatrice Jean Howard-Gabel Born Jan 19 2012 8lbs 6oz Bryce & Baby B are spectacular Daddy Seth & brother Theo are beaming ear to ear :-) (sic)"

Bryce's friends and former co-stars were quick to offer their congratulations with 'The Help' star Octavia Spencer writing "Congrats Ron from bryce's help family! :-) (sic)"

Actress Jennifer Connolly wrote "please send Bryce my congrats and well wishes!!! & Congrats to you xo" while director M. Night Shyamalan - who has worked with Bryce on 'The Village' and 'Lady in the Water' joked he is looking forward to casting Beatrice in the future.

He tweeted: "Ron, tell Bryce congratulations from our whole family. I'll be waiting to cast Beatrice in a few years! :-) (sic)"

Bryce's younger sister Paige also tweeted about the latest arrival, writing: "The news is out! Bea is the healthiest, most beautiful little angel-Theo is one VERY good older brother

"Bryce, Seth, and Theo are SOO excited the little one has FINALLY arrived (sic)"
