Eastwood Honoured For Humanitarian Role.Veteran Hollywood star CLINT EASTWOOD is to receive an humanitarian award from the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA).The actor-turned-director will be the first ever recipient of the JACK VALENTI Humanitarian Award, named after the MPAA's chief. DAN GLICKMAN, MPAA chairman says, "(Eastwood has) for decades exemplified decency and goodness of spirit in his moviemaking."Referring to 76-year-old Eastwood's recent works, FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS and the Oscar-nominated LETTERS FROM IWO JIMA, Glickman praised the star for his heartfelt film-making ability.He says, "These films exemplify the true power of movies to tell human stories and inspire national conversation."
