Caleb Followill writes songs when he is angry and drunk. The Kings of Leon frontman admits he is unpleasant to be around after consuming alcohol - but says it is when he pens his best lyrics. He said: "Once I start to drink you don't want to be around me because there's a level of brutal honesty, if not just plain meanness. "In a way, I lash out at everyone else because that's when I start to point fingers at myself. And that's when I write lyrics."The singer also claims writing songs buys him "brief happiness" and worries about what will happen to his creativity if he ever overcomes his anxieties. He added: "When we are on the road, the loneliness is gone. There's not that deep longing for something new."When we are writing songs, it's almost as if we're buying ourselves some happiness. For me, it's a momentary resolution. But those deep issues, I think they will always be there. And, when they go away, I would hate to hear what songs come out."
