A source told Heat: “Geri woke up one morning last week and decided she just wasn't the marrying type. She loved being in a relationship but decided that all she needs is her daughter Bluebell to keep her happy."
Having previously dated singer Robbie Williams, screen writer Sacha Gervasi who is Bluebell’s father, and American dancer Ivan ‘Flipz’ Velez, Geri told Fabulous magazine that she doesn’t believe that she could ever have a long-lasting relationship.
“I love the idea of the swan that mates for life, but I don’t know how to get that. I don’t know if anyone does. All I can say is I’m very open.”
Geri recently announced that she plans on staying off men for a year but who knows what the future has in store for her.
Another songstress hoping to find a man is Britney Spears – a woman who hasn't had it easy in recent years. Back in her hey day when she and childhood sweetheart Justin Timberlake turned up at an awards ceremony in matching denim outfits, (yes, best forgotten I know) we classed them as the cutest couple on the planet. Both gorgeous and incredibly talented, the pair appeared perfect for each other.
Sadly it wasn’t meant to be and after an intense few years together, the couple split in 2002. Both were said to be heartbroken and devastated.
In a Sky 1 television documentary called Britney: For the Record, the 27-year old said: “With Justin, he was part of the magnitude of what I had become. So when he was gone I was like, 'What am I supposed to do with myself?'"
"He started to do an album for himself and he started to do things for himself, and I just never saw him anymore. When it ended I felt so alone. I didn't really want to think about the reality of it. I never faced it - I just ran."
After the blip of marrying hometown friend Jason Alexander in Las Vegas in 2004 – a marriage which lasted 55 hours – Britney found love again with dancer Kevin Federline.
The couple married in the same year and later went on to have their two sons Sean Preston and Jayden James. Speaking about being in love she said: "When I really love somebody, I give my all. I can’t get enough. I need to be around them all the time. It's just the best feeling in the world.”
When they split, Britney said: “I think I married for the wrong reasons. Instead of following my heart and doing something that made me really happy, I just did it for the idea of [marriage and] everything.”
Britney’s career took a nosedive, leading to the star’s fragile mental state. During that time she started a relationship with photographer Adnan Ghalib whom she later dumped for his apparent gold-digging ways.
Rumours are currently circulating that the pop sensation has enjoyed a series of secret dates with Los Angeles talent manager Jason Trawick. Let’s just hope that, if romance is in the air, the outcome is a little more successful.
We're rooting for you girls!
