Charlize Theron was left "shrivelled" after filming a perfume advert in a water tank.
The blonde actress became concerned her skin had been affected by spending too much time submerged under water for the new Dior campaign.
A source said: "Charlize spent the better part of three days in a huge water tank. At the end of every workday she emerged with her skin shrivelled and crinkled like a prune."
At the end of the shoot she was so freaked out she sought help from a dermatologist who gave her a special moisturiser that balanced oils in her epidermis.
Charlize was so worried the shoot had permanently damaged her skin, she hastily consulted a dermatologist for advice.
The source added to National Enquirer magazine: "At the end of the shoot she was so freaked out she sought help from a dermatologist who gave her a special moisturiser that balanced oils in her epidermis."
It has previously been claimed that Charlie splashed out on expensive "super berry" moisturiser to maintain her youthful looks.
Sugar Acai Age-Delay Body Cream, which is made from a fruit found in the Amazon jungle and costs a staggering $65 for a small tube, boasts it can "slow down time" and is packed with "age-defying technologies to nourish, protect and firm".
