Church Granted Permission To Keep FenceWelsh pop star Charlotte Church will be able to keep away the prying lens of the paparazzi from her home, after council officials agreed to let the star keep a controversial giant fence surrounding her property.Planning officials on Thursday (15FEB07) gave the singer permission to keep the £5,000 ($9,750) fence, erected to allow Church some privacy in her £400,000 ($780,000) Cardiff, Wales, home which she shares with Welsh rugby star Gavin Henson. The Crazy Chick installed the grey 16 foot (4.9 meters) gates without planning permission in 2005, attracting complaint from neighbours who described Church's boundaries as an eyesore.
However, last month (JAN07), Sean Hannaby, chief planning officer for the council admitted he saw no problem with the fence. He said, "It is considered that the detailing of the boundary treatment shows individuality and originality."
