Charlotte Church Announces Pregnancy.

CHARLOTTE CHURCH has announced she is expecting her first child with rugby player boyfriend GAVIN HENSON.

The party-loving singer-turned-TV presenter sparked rumours of a pregnancy by refusing to drink alcohol at her 21st birthday party last week (21FEB07) - and confirmed the reports today, on Saint David's Day, the national day of Wales.

A statement on Church's website reads, "Charlotte has asked us to bring you the news exclusively today that she is pregnant. For reasons of privacy, Charlotte has chosen not to comment on this matter, other than to confirm that she and her boyfriend, Gavin Henson, are delighted.

"In an ideal world, we would not have made this announcement so early in the pregnancy. However, due to recent speculation and persistent questions from the media about this most private of matters, Charlotte felt she had no choice other than to go public and she was keen to ensure that her fans had the opportunity to read the truth here first."

Last month (FEB07) the star hinted she and Henson would be starting a family soon, when she said, "We're so happy - I'd like to have his kids. I love him and he's the one."
