Christina Ricci To Discuss Rape Crimes With Us CongressActress Christina Ricci will head to Washington D.C. this month (May07) to meet members of the US Congress as a spokeswoman for the Rape, Abuse and Incest network. The Black Snake Moan star admits child abuse "enrages her" and is determined to do all she can to highlight victims' plights. She will present Congress with ideas on how to raise awareness of the issue later this month. She says, "Our society is running rampant with these victims who desperately need treatment. Murder is a horrible crime but with rape you leave living victims. There should be zero tolerance for that kind of behaviour, zero."The rate of revictimisation is a huge problem. A woman that is raped as a child is five times more likely to be raped as an adult. An adult rape victim is 40 per cent more likely to be raped again in her lifetime."When I read those statistics, my blood went cold. I just couldn't be more angry about it."
