Christy Turlington looks back on her Modelling Career

Christy Turlington the original supermodel of the 1990’s revealed why she stepped out of the limelight eleven years ago.

Turlington ,along with Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell defined the era of the supermodel.Deciding that she wanted to focus on other areas apart from modelling she went into semi retirement and also launched her own yoga clothing line. Turlington admits that it wasn’t easy admitting to ES magazine that ‘ It’s so hard to walk away. You couldn’t cultivate other interests. It absorbs so much.” Looking back on her modelling career she added that she still finds it difficult to be objective about the whole supermodel business.She said:” It was just, ugh. I hated being lumped into a group. Better to be an individual.I have better things to do than walk down memory lane and talk about supermodel days. But funnily enough I am in a place where I can admit it’s part of what I am.”Patricia Johnson
