Oasis Audition Tape Up For Sale.... An early audition tape of Oasis attempting to secure a record deal is up for sale on internet auction site eBay.com.The 13-year-old tape sees frontman Liam Gallagher performing without his trademark swagger and devoid of the rude persona he has cultivated in the British tabloids - Gallagher is very polite to label bosses in the footage. The tape belonged to bandmember Noel Gallagher, who gave it to his friend David Bosmond, who placed it on eBay.com.Bosmond says, "It's been gathering dust for years. It was Noel's only copy - he'd promised me, Guigsy's guitar, but he couldn't get it, so he gave me this instead."Meanwhile in related news British rocker Damon Albarn was stunned by Oasis' decision to accept an award for Outstanding Contribution to Music at last month's (14Feb07) Brit Awards - insisting the band "deserves better".The Good, The Bad & The Queen frontman was baffled when he saw Liam and his brother Noel Gallagher accept the award in London, because he expected them to snub the "unnecessary" accolade in true rock 'n' roll fashion. He says, "The Brits is like the Shopping Channel for famous people. I don't really understand why Noel and Liam did the awards, it didn't seem necessary."Their contribution is obvious in the bands that are in (British music magazine) Nme and they're certainly better than Sting (who won the award in 2002), so why put yourself in a position when you're putting yourself into a linage following him?

"I don't understand it, because they're better than that."
