Clive Owen: Desperate but not serious

'Children of Men' star Clive Owen is desperate to shake off his miserable tag - and get the chance to smile in a movie. The actor - who is best known for his straight-faced film roles, which include parts in 'Sin City', 'Derailed' and 'Closer' - admits he would love to show off his lighter side.He told BANG Showbiz: "I think if I smile all the way through it might freak people out. It would be terrifying. Actually, I quite like that idea.He joked: "From now on I'm going to ask my agent to only send me scripts with characters that grin in them!"Despite his plan to shake off his celluloid stereotype, Owen insists he won't be giving up gritty roles just yet.He added: "I do make a lot of grown up movies that aren't all frothy but I like that. They do have light and shade and touches of humour but just in a different way. I love playing characters with some sort of conflict."
