Q: How does it feel to be a TV star and cult cartoon icon?
Oh, I wouldn’t say icon… well, alright! I suppose I am really. I’m one of those ducks who was just destined for the limelight – I certainly do have a few admirable qualities… I’m very talented – I can ski, dance, surf, write (in fact, I’m rather a good poet if you’re asking), I’ve been known to invent some really quite incredible new technologies… and I’m very modest… that’s important
Q: What was it like working with Cosgrove Hall?
Fond memories! They really are a talented bunch, although I imagine it helps when the characters are so strong… I remember the day they gave me my own show after my string of appearances on DangerMouse. It was really quite an honour to star in my very own spin-off series, which ended up being incredibly popular.
Q: Have you ever had to deal with any crazed fans?
Quite a few actually. Although Castle Duckula itself isn’t hooked up to this interweb thing, sometimes I go to one of those cafes in the town centre and I’ll admit I have been known to google myself… There are hundreds of fan sites out there, although there are some unflattering pictures that I wish they’d take down… I’ve had some interesting things sent to me in the post as well, but I don’t think it’s appropriate to go into that… Nanny gets quite upset.
Q: What was it like working with David Jason?
David Jason is one of my heroes, and I'd like to think I'm one of his. I also loved his collaboration with Toad in The Wind In The Willows, and DangerMouse if I must admit it - even though he was once my arch nemesis!

Q: Other than your own show, what is your favourite Cosgrove Hall animation?

Well, DangerMouse will always have a place in my heart – it’s where I started my career. And I’m quite looking forward to the new Rupert The Bear animation, although I’m not really up-to-date on these new special effects techniques. I wonder what my show would have looked like with all this CGI malarkey…

Q: You are the world’s only vegetarian vampire duck. Are you proud to stand alone and do you think your beliefs will ever rub off on Igor?

I've been a vegetarian since the day I was reincarnated (well, this time around anyway...). The idea of eating meat makes me feel quite queasy. I mean, could you imagine me eating Igor, or Nanny... well that would certainly take some time... I'm afraid Igor is a bit of a lost cause when it comes to morals... Although once Nanny and I tried to trick him by feeding him Quorn, but she thought I said corn, and lets just say the result wasn't particularly appetizing!

Q: What is your favourite food?

Mmmm… broccoli! You can never have too much broccoli! I’ve recently discovered the joys of the local Chinese takeaway as well, so I’m being introduced to all sorts of new vegetable delights… bamboo type things, waterchesnuts… crunchy little things.

Q: Describe your favourite holiday…

Alone! I mean, obviously I’m fond of Nanny and Igor, but when you see somebody every day… And Nanny can be very hard work; she’s not the sharpest tool in the box. I think on a deserted island, well, with a few people to bring me veggie smoothie cocktails and feed me grapes…

Q: If you weren’t the star of a TV show what do you think you would have done for a living?

I’m quite artistic, I think I might have been the next Beethoven had I had the chance, and I wasn’t permanently bombarded with ridiculous ideas from Igor about feasting on maidens and drinking blood or performing some kind of hippy ritual then I might be able to actually get something done!

Q: Any plans for a comeback with new adventures?

Well my people... that is, Igor and Nanny, are in talks about various offers... You may still see Castle Duckula teleporting across to Hollywood - watch this space. For the time being I’m excited that my show is coming out on DVD. Series 2 will be out on 26th March, so hopefully that will encourage some more offers – not that I don’t already have quite a few…
