Summer Trends: The playsuit

Given the unpredictable nature of our summer weather it can be nice to be covered for every eventuality.

The playsuit is a great little trend that is keeping fashion hopefuls going at the moment as it seems to a compromise between skirts, shorts and the full on jumpsuit. You can even wear with a long, light cardigan and look summer ready and warm-ish without having to dig out the parker.

The nautical theme that took last season by storm has carried on this year. We are still seeing stripes everywhere which makes this little playsuit from Asos a trendy buy. It's cute and casual and perfect for days out with mates either at the beach or a day of shopping. £25.

inlovewithfashion has some great vintage inspired collections on their website and well worth a look if this is your scene. We love the botanic feel of this jumpsuit. It's great for the summer and keeps the eye busy with the unusally oriental feel print. Available for £36.

Delicate, girly trends are more in than we would like to think at the moment. This cream printed playsuit from River Island screams dainty from the print to the frilled trim. We love the button detail down the front and the tied straps. These simple details make a good outfit a great one. Wear wear a chunky weave cardigan and some little pixie shoes to finish the look. £29.99.

This season is all about the power print and this zig zag effect on this playsuit from Rare at Bank is just up our street. The neutral tones compliment the pattern well and the belt is great for giving some shape to the waist. What more could you ask from a summer outfit? £35.99.
