Daniel Radcliffe claims his success is down to "dumb luck".The actor shot to fame at the age of 11 after winning the role of Harry Potter in the movie versions of J.K. Rowling's children's books, but insists his success is down to a combination of good fortune and hard work.He said: "I got where I am by dumb luck. You only deserve what you have if you work hard. I know most actors hoped for a job, and then found themselves between jobs. For me, it was a great job at 11."I'm a person who got lucky very young, but I was brought up with a work ethic - show up on time, work hard and do your lines."The 19-year-old star - who is about to reprise his role as a horse-obsessed stable boy in the Broadway run of 'Equus' - admits his parents were unsure about letting him commit to the franchise. He explained: " 'No, absolutely not', is what they said when I was younger, but they're pleased now."
