'The X-Files: I Want to Believe' UK premiere took place in London last night (30.07.08).Fans lined Leicester Square as the movie's main stars David Duchovny and a heavily pregnant Gillian Anderson took to the red carpet. They were joined by 'The X-Files' creator and the movie's director, Chris Carter.Carter insists that despite six years apart, the chemistry between the two main characters, Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, is still there. He told BANG Showbiz: "I'm telling you, as soon as they step into a room together the magic's there. When they look at each other its like sparks fly, its something you can't manufacture."The film is the first outing for the supernatural FBI investigators since the hugely popular TV show ended in 2002, after a run of nine series.Carter is adamant moviegoers do not need to be familiar with the TV programme to enjoy the film. He also confirmed the plot - which has been a closely guarded secret - centres around issues of faith.Carter added: "It's a very good stand alone story. It doesn't involve aliens or mythology and you don't have to know anything about the whole conspiracy story that we had for many, many years - but, it is good scary and creepy and actually involves their characters and their life."
