Demi Moore and Madonna have reportedly hosted a £40,000 Kabbalah party
in honour of Rabbi Michael Berg.
The Hollywood actress and the pop superstar - who are both devout
followers of the mystical religion - hosted the bash at a private London
club to thank him for improving their lives as well as getting publicity
for his new book, 'Becoming Like God: Kabbalah and our Ultimate Destiny'.
A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Rabbi Berg is the
founding father of their religion and they both credit him with turning
their lives around.
"Demi and Madonna are the two most A-list followers of the faith and knew
that holding the party would get a lot of publicity for Michael's book."
Sources claim the venue would have cost £10,000 just to hire and the pair
shipped in specially-blessed Kabbalah water and paid for an unlimited bar
and macrobiotic canapés for their 50 guests, who included Madonna's
husband, Guy Ritchie, actress Gwyneth Paltrow and designer Donatella
Versace.
The book - which claims all people are "inhabitants of a prison called
life" - has already become a best-seller in America, and Demi and Madonna
are hoping it will become a worldwide smash.
The source added: "Rabbi Berg must be really pleased. He's treated like an
A-list star by two of the most famous women in the world."
