Doug Reindhardt Blows Paris Fortune

Doug Reindhardt spent $2 million on Paris Hilton during their relationship.

Friends of the former 'Hills' star have laughed off speculation he was only "using" the heiress to get more famous, insisting he paid for everything during their relationship, including buying her gifts - which include custom-made diamond jewellery, a Chanel watch and a puppy - and splashing out on luxury holidays to Fiji, Hawaii, Aspen and Anguilla.

One pal said: "Doug never used Paris. He spent $2 million on her over the course of a year and a half. She never once paid for a single thing.

"Between flying private, private islands, etc... in reality he paid for everything."

Despite reports insisting it was the socialite's decision to call time on their 14-month romance, Doug is very happy to be single again.

The friend added to RadarOnline.com: "Doug is sick of Paris and really just wants all this to go away and focus on his future stuff."

Earlier this week, Paris, 29, claimed she is "better off" without the 24-year-old reality TV star.

She said: "I am, like, so past that - I don't even care. I don't even remember that time in my life. I am over it!

"I just realised that I'm better off without him. So I ended it because I deserve something much better! He wasn't right for me and I will eventually find somebody who loves me for who I am."
