Mission: Impossible II star Dougray Scott is joining the cast of hit TV serie Desperate Housewives as a love interest for Teri Hatcher's character Susan.

The Scottish star most recently appeared in US network NBC's short-lived series Heist and played Moses in a television mini-series re-make of The Ten Commandments. According to US TV Guide magazine, the 40-year-old star will appear on the show when it returns to the schedule this autumn.

Mischa Barton To Go Desperate?

Mischa Barton is reportedly being lined up for a role in TV sensation Desperate Housewives. After quitting THE OC - the teen show that made her famous - the British-born star is rumoured to be discussing a new role with Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry.

Cherry's spokesperson says, "He's interviewing and auditioning all the time.

"I'm sure Mischa would be a welcome asset to the show but who knows what will happen?"
