Movie alien ET is set to return to Earth - 20 years after he wowed audiences in his first big screen adventure.Actress Drew Barrymore - who was only six when she played Gertie in the 1982 film - is in talks with original director Steven Spielberg to bring the extra-terrestrial back to our screens for a second filmA Hollywood insider is quoted by Britain's Daily Star newspaper as saying: "Drew has spoken to Steven about itAlthough he thought she was joking at first, he's actually giving it serious thought"Drew thinks the world needs another feel-good movie like 'ET' right now and she's prepared to work with Steven to make it happen"In the new film, ET would meet up with his now-adult friend Elliott as part of a desperate bid to save his alien race from being wiped outHowever, it is not yet known how many of the original cast would be enticed back to star in a sequel if it ever happensEarlier this year, 30-year-old Drew confessed she isn't ready to sacrifice her acting career to settle down and have a family
The screen beauty, who is romancing The Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti, says she is enjoying working and her active social life far too much to settle down
She admitted at the time: "I'm not ready to have a family and I'm not ready to get married my head is so not in that space
"It's more about enjoying life and having fun and working, spending time with my love and family and friends Those are my priorities"
