Sir Elton John says the internet is damaging the prospect of world peace. The 'Rocket Man' singer, who is against the war in Iraq, slammed people who prefer to voice their protests online instead of taking to the streets.Elton told the Observer Music Monthly magazine: "People don't seem to protest in the streets any more, they are always blogging on the internet instead. They seem to do their protesting online, and that is just not good enough."We are doing fundraisers for Africa but I think peace is really important."Elton also said he wished the late Beatles legend John Lennon was still alive because he would have helped to promote peace around the world. He insisted: "If John Lennon were alive today he'd be leading it with a vengeance."We cannot solve everybody's f***ing problems in the West. What we've done in Iraq has sped up an inevitable civil war after Saddam Hussein left power."
