Evan Rachel Wood has shunned her new-found celebrity status.
The actress, who is currently dating goth rocker Marilyn Manson, has described being mobbed by the paparazzi as "like something out of 'The Omen'", and says she is not cut out to live in the limelight.
She told Britain's The Times newspaper: "Last night I went out and there are literally people jumping on my car and banging on the windows. It reminded me of a scene from 'The Omen', with the monkeys jumping all over the hood - I found it horrifying!
"I'm a shy person, and this whole celebrity thing is just not for me. I'm literally not built for this."
The 20-year-old star also believed her new Beatles-inspired film 'Across The Universe' would help her get away from the "troubled teenager" role she became famous after starring in 'Thirteen'.
She added: "When I did 'In Bloom' with Uma Thurman I said to them, 'This is the last time! This is my last teenage role. I'm going into that cocoon and I'm coming out as an adult.' "
