Fergie Rubbishes Product Placement Claims.FERGIE - THE BLACK EYED PEAS star FERGIE has rubbished reports she is to use her songs to promote a clothing line.The singer, real name Stacey Ferguson, signed a $4 million (£2 million) deal with U.S. clothing firm Candie's earlier this month (Jul07), and it was claimed she would namecheck the brand in tunes written for her second album. But Ferguson insists the agreement is "unconnected" to her musical career.A spokesperson for the star says, "There is absolutely no truth in the media reports that Fergie has agreed to product placement in her songs."She does have a commercial deal with the clothing brand Candie's, but it has nothing whatsoever to do with the creation of her music."A representative for Candie's adds, "Contrary to recent false reports in the media, the Company does not have any arrangement with Fergie whereby she will incorporate the Candie's brand into her lyrics."
