TRAVIS frontman FRAN HEALY was threatened by a heroin addict during an impromptu street performance. The Scottish rockers were busking in Glasgow, Scotland, on Tuesday (05OCT04) when an addict brandishing a syringe approached the singer. Healy was terrified when the man shouted, "Give me money, give me money for a fix," but he remained calm and carried on singing until the man walked away. He says, "I just kept thinking, 'Don't stick that in me'.It was the maddest thing we've seen.
I kept expecting to find a syringe stuck up my a**e."The street show was set up to raise money for British homeless charity the BIG ISSUE and the band played a set of songs taken from the forthcoming GREATEST HITS album. Of the rest of the performance, Healy adds, "It went really well and all the fans were great."
