George Clooney broke his Oscar bachelor status by taking his girlfriend to Sunday's ceremony (24.02.08).The 46-year-old actor - who was nominated for the Best Actor award for 'Michael Clayton' - arrived at the prestigious Los Angeles ceremony with his girlfriend of seven months Sarah Larson.A source said: "Sarah really wanted to go to the Oscars and begged George to take her. "George broke the rule of a lifetime and finally agreed. Sarah was the perfect companion and everyone agreed they made a lovely couple."George - who eventually lost out on the award to 'There Will Be Blood' star Daniel Day-Lewis - revealed he helped the former cocktail waitress to prepare for the prestigious event.He joked: "I helped her curl her hair before we came here."Referring to Sarah's heavily-beaded turquoise Valentino dress, George quipped: "It's all my handiwork. I'm a seamster! I sewed all the beads on myself!"
